Typanga Evans

Typanga Evans, BA & MPACS, is a Dane-zaa, Michif, and French person from Treaty 8 territory, and a Research Coordinator with the Inner City Health and Wellness Program. They come from the non-profit field with their BA from the University of Victoria in Gender Studies and Indigenous Studies and 10 years of frontline and administrative experience in and around harm reduction services.

In 2025 they obtained their Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Queensland as a Rotary Peace Fellow where they were able to undertake qualitative research for the UN Offices of Europe and Central Asia. They believe all people deserve healthcare, housing, and human rights and have a keen interest in community building, advocacy, and the politics of everything (currently the politics of development, security, and anthropogenic environmental change). In their spare time they enjoy cuddling with their dog Atlas and cat Beatrice, playing rugby, concocting and writing half-baked books, and spending time with family.
