Kelly Sachatsky Ward

Kelly is currently a PhD student at the School of Public Health. Her doctoral research will focus on addressing the lack of emergency shelter services available to women who use drugs as well as other service gaps. Kelly graduated with her BScN in 2003 and is currently working as a Registered Nurse at the Opioid Dependency Program. She has since received her Master of Arts in Gender and Social Justice Studies from the University of Alberta where she studied sexual assault victim’s experiences reporting to the police as well as the treatment they endure from the legal system during trial.

When she isn’t saving lives, Kelly enjoys spending time reading and being outdoors with her husband, 3 sons, and 2 large floofy dogs
