Dr. Kathryn Dong
Kathryn Dong, MD MSC FRCP DABAM completed her medical school training at McMaster University then moved to Alberta to complete her emergency medicine training at the University of Alberta. During her training she saw many patients with high risk substance use, which was often complicated by social inequities such as poverty and homelessness. This led her to complete a Masters of Science in Population Health looking specifically at the emergency department and community experience of overdose. In 2014, in partnership with the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the community, she launched and currently directs the Inner City Health and Wellness Program. After practicing emergency medicine for 11 years at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Kathryn went on to complete additional certification in addiction medicine and now her clinical practice is as a physician on the Addiction Recovery and Community Health or ARCH Team.
