Bridge Healing: Access to Transitional Housing from the Emergency Department

The primary objective of this study is to determine the proportion of patients who successfully transition to stable housing upon discharge from Bridge Healing (BH). This is defined as housing that meets an individuals’ unique needs and budget, and where an individual can potentially remain for six months or longer.

This is a prospective cohort study. Participants will be asked to complete a baseline survey at enrolment and a follow up survey at the time of discharge from Bridge Healing. If the participant provides consent, a follow up phone call or text 6-months after leaving BH will be used to ascertain current housing status.

This study has been cleared by the University of Alberta Research Ethics Board (Pro00128092)
