Beth Whitebear
Beth is Nêhiyawa (Cree) from ᒪᐢᑿᒌᐢ (Maskwacîs) studying for a Master of Arts in Native Studies at the University of Alberta. In addition to her two undergraduate degrees (Political Science and Native Studies) she has previously worked in Edmonton’s inner city for over two years as a community support worker ending in May 2023. Beth will be bringing her educational and work experience together at ICHWP in her role as a Graduate Research Assistant. She has a keen focus on health and wellness; culture as a social determinant of health; culture as land, language, and relationships; and harm reduction. In what little spare time she has between studying and working, Beth has begun learning to bead.
