Anna Markov

Anna Markov, BASc, MSW, is the Senior Program Lead for the Inner City Health and Wellness Program. Anna received her Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and her Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition and Psychology from the University of Guelph. Prior to joining the team, Anna worked in a number of settings, including in the areas of social research and municipal planning, community health and health policy, immigration and settlement, post-secondary education, and mental health. In those settings, Anna engaged in numerous research, program evaluation, and program and community development projects focused on the enhancement and sustainment of equitable access to mental health and substance use services as well as social and community supports for numerous populations. Anna’s specialty is in qualitative and community-based research methods, with interests in patient and community engagement, peer-based programming, health equity and policy, and substance use services for rural and remote populations.
